  OUR STORY

Pack 504 was established in 1988 and is chartered by Trinity Lutheran Church. Our Scouts come primarily from R.D Head Elementary School and as of August 2022 include Gwin Oaks Elementary School, although anyone is welcome to join us. Pack 504 is part of the Northeast Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Our Pack is also part of the Sweetwater District

We are part of Scouting which includes over 17 million members in more than 134 countries worldwide. As part of the worldwide Scouting movement, we share similar aims of character development, citizenship training, appreciation for the outdoors, and physical fitness. We are an inclusive pack that includes both boys and girls.

Pack 504 is dedicated to community service and in the past few years has participated with our community in various ways:

  • Twice annual food drives for the Lilburn Co-Op Food Bank

  • Planted trees for Snellville Centennial Forest

  • Flag ceremonies for RD Head PTA meetings, Veterans Day Programs, Lilburn Arbor Day

  • Planted trees for Lilburn Arbor day

  • Sang Christmas carols at a local nursing home

  • Wrapped Christmas presents for local elderly veterans

  • Annually retire US flags for local residents and businesses

  • Local park clean-up days

  • Collect and donate shoe boxes full of necessities for the homeless.

  • Places flags on the graves of those that have served us proudly and bravely

Our goal is to prepare our scouts with the fundamentals of outdoor skills, character, and leadership so that they may transition into the Boy Scouts at the completion of 5th grade. In the past 2 years, we have crossed over 19 of our eligible scouts to local Boy Scout Troops.

In 2019-2020, we went camping, hiked many great places, had a pool party, went bowling, slept in the Chattanooga Zoo, raced Pinewood Derby cars, model boats, and so much more.  We laughed, got rained on, skinned a couple of knees, played until we were exhausted, and along the way happened to learn a thing or two about good sportsmanship, leadership and responsibility.  In the end, we all (parents and scouts) made friends that will last a lifetime.

We would love to have you join us.
