Pumpkin Chunkin' & Gross Goodies

Our theme this month is two-fold. We will be doing both Pumpkin Chunkin’ and Gross Goodies outside behind the church.

As a bonus, we will be participating in a Winter Coat Drive.  This means that we will be collecting winter coats for the homeless.  Please consider donating any coats or jackets you or your children have outgrown by dropping them off during our Pack Meeting.

“Pumpkin Chunkin’”

All scouts need to bring a small pumpkin to launch from our catapult.  The pumpkins should be roughly the size of a grapefruit...the closer to this size, the better it will fly!  Scouts are welcome to decorate their pumpkins ahead of time if they'd like.

Gross Goodies

We will be setting up tables outside behind TLC for the Gross Goodies portion.  Every scout family should prepare a “Gross Goody” to share with the group.  It need not be a dessert (the kids normally end up hopped up on sugar!), but if you search Google Images for “gross desserts” or “gross goodies,” you’ll get plenty of ideas.  Just keep in mind that we DO want the food to be tasty.  PLEASE be sure to label your food if it contains common food allergens (dairy, nuts, etc.)

We will need some parent volunteers during the meeting to help the kids dish up their plates, and afterwards to help clean up the pumpkins and any trash left over from the Gross Goodies.
